Case Overview

St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company sued Newkumet Exploration and NEI, Ltd. on August 23, 2024, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Midland/Odessa Division, Cause No. 7:24-cv-00206-DC, claiming that it had no duty to defend an underlying lawsuit against Newkumet and NEI concerning alleged damages from environmental claims, styled Ledgerwood et al. v. Southcreek Petroleum Co., LLC, et al., Cause No. CJ-19-84, in the District Court in and for Garvin County, Oklahoma. Rachelle “Shelley” Glazer represented in the insurance lawsuit brought by St. Paul Fire and assisted Vartabedian Katz Hester & Haynes LLP attorneys Rob Vartabedian and Meaghan Nowell in settling the underlying lawsuit contemporaneously with the insurance lawsuit in January 2025.
