Represented a Fortune 50 insurance company in a dozen cost of insurance class action matters with potential exposure of over $1 billion, including securing summary judgment rulings which resulted in a favorable global settlement of all suits involving that particular policy.

In re 3G Sunsetting Consumer Class Action (C.D. Cal.)
Represented a Fortune Global 50 automotive manufacturer in a consumer class action lawsuit brought by car owners involving the loss of certain in-vehicle connected technologies services due to the sunsetting of 3G cellular networks, including securing voluntary dismissal of plaintiffs’ entire lawsuit.

Patient Information Data Breach MDL (Mult. Jdx.)
Represented a national medical group in multidistrict litigation arising from an alleged patient information breach.

FDCPA Class Action Litigation (Mult. Jdx.)
Representing plaintiffs against billion-dollar parking companies in multiple class actions involving consumer deception claims involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Complex Commercial Litigation

Trade Secrets Misappropriation Litigation (W.D. Tex.)
Represented national waste management broker against competitor in federal trade secrets misappropriation litigation involving claims under the Texas Uniform Trade Secrets Act and Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

Noncompete Arbitration (AAA/ICDR)
Represented multi-billion dollar cryogenic tank manufacturer in international arbitration against competitor involving breach of contract and noncompete violations.

Employee Raiding and Lift-Out Litigation (Tex. and Bankr. S.D. Tex)
Served as lead trial counsel for a national engineering firm in an unfair competition and theft of trade secrets action against a former regional executive and a competitor alleged to have orchestrated the coordinated departure of nearly half of the company’s workforce and several lucrative client contracts.

Ponzi Scheme Recovery Litigation and Arbitration (S.D.N.Y and AAA)
Represented a multibillion-dollar insurance company against perpetrators of a highly publicized Ponzi scheme in parallel multiyear litigation and arbitration proceedings before the Southern District of New York and the American Arbitration Association.

Medical Device Manufacturer Disputes (AAA and N.J. Super. Ct.)
Served as counsel to a multinational medical device manufacturer in various litigations and arbitration proceedings involving breach of contract and related issues before the American Arbitration Association and New Jersey Superior Court.

Employee Poaching Dispute (N.Y. Sup. Ct.)
Represented a major private equity firm in an employee poaching action against a competitor firm.

LLC Indemnification Dispute (Del. Ch.)
Advised a global investment management company in a dispute over indemnification rights under a limited liability company agreement. The case involved complex issues of fiduciary duties and contract interpretation before Delaware Chancery Court.

Fraud Arbitration (AAA)
Represented a major wealth management firm in arbitration proceedings against an international bank involving allegations of fraud and misrepresentation related to financial instruments.

RMBS Regulatory Investigations (D.N.J.)
Represented an international bank in connection with state and federal investigations of residential mortgage-backed securities practices.

Right of First Refusal Litigation (S.D. Ind., AAA, and 7th Cir.)
Represented a privately owned technology company in litigation and arbitration proceedings initiated by an international pharmaceutical and medical diagnostics company involving a disputed contractual right of first refusal.

Criminal Appeals

Unanimous Jury Challenge – Post-Conviction Appeal (L.A.)
Secured the release of a criminal defendant who had served 36 years in prison by successfully challenging felony convictions based on non-unanimous jury verdicts under a Jim Crow-era law, ahead of the Supreme Court’s decision in Edwards v. Vannoy.

Voir Dire Violation Appeal (N.Y. App. Div. and N.Y. Ct. App.)
Represented a criminal defendant in an appeal case involving constitutional voir dire violations before the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division and New York Court of Appeals, successfully overturning client’s conviction and securing release after 14 years in prison.

Strict Liability Statute Appeal – Amicus Brief (N.Y. Ct. App.)
Prepared amicus curiae brief on behalf of a major public policy organization before the New York Court of Appeals concerning the interpretation of a strict liability statute. The brief supported a narrow construction of the law to preserve constitutional safeguards.

Speedy Trial Violation Case – Amicus Brief (N.Y. Ct. App.)
Submitted amicus briefs on behalf of several national public policy organizations in a New York Court of Appeals case addressing systemic violations of defendants’ speedy trial rights under the state constitution.
