Plaintiff Verdict on Behalf of Computer Software Company
Successfully represented plaintiff OSHGD LLC in a lawsuit against Nomi Health, Inc. in a computer software dispute in state court in Dallas, Texas for a claim for breach of a software license agreement used in Covid-19 testing. The jury returned a verdict for the plaintiff for $4 million, which also led to the confidential settlement of a larger copyright infringement lawsuit filed by OSGHC against Nomi Health in Dallas federal court.
PTAB and PTO Victories for Telecom Clients and Patent Owners
Served as lead counsel for major telecommunications companies, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Ericsson, and Nokia, as well as other patent owners, in over 200 inter partes review and ex parte reexamination proceedings pending before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the United States Patent and Trademark Office, leading to recognition as one of the top 1% of practitioners in the United States.

Successfully represented Halliburton in Legacy Separators LLC v. Halliburton et al., a patent infringement and trade secret dispute involving downhole separators used to remove gas from production fluids in subterranean wells.
Complete Defense Verdict in Agricultural Equipment Patent Trial
Served as lead trial counsel for Alamo Group and Bush Hog in Deere & Co. v. Alamo Group and Bush Hog Inc., a patent infringement action involving flex-wing rotary cutters. Following a three-week trial in Davenport, Iowa, the jury found that the asserted patent was not infringed and was invalid on multiple grounds.
Deepwater Horizon Multidistrict Litigation
Represented Halliburton and Sperry Sun in multidistrict litigation arising from the Macondo well blowout and Deepwater Horizon oil spill and led the team that established the root cause for the failure of the well, the reasoning adopted by the court in its final findings of fact and conclusions of law.
Favorable Resolution of Downhole Tool Patent Litigation
Successfully represented Halliburton in Weatherford International v. Halliburton, a patent infringement action involving methods for forming composite components used in downhole tools, including frac plugs, bridge plugs and packers. The matter settled on favorable terms.
Plaintiff’s Verdict in Web Server Patent Trial
Represented Bedrock as trial counsel in Bedrock v. Google, a patent infringement action involving software designed to improve the speed and efficiency of web servers. Following a six-day trial in Tyler, Texas, the jury found the patent infringed and valid and awarded a royalty to Bedrock. The matter settled before entry of judgment.
Seven-Patent Enterprise Software Litigation
Successfully represented i2 Technologies as plaintiff in i2 Technologies v. SAP, asserting infringement of seven patents involving enterprise software. The matter settled shortly after the claim construction hearing.
Favorable Resolution of Drill-Bit Patent Litigation
Represented US Synthetic Corporation and Halliburton Energy Services against claims alleging infringement of four patents involving leached diamond drill-bit cutting elements. The matter settled on favorable terms shortly after the pretrial conference.
