Christian handles complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on oil and gas disputes. He has represented clients in royalty disputes, washout claims, frac hit litigation, lease termination issues, lien enforcement, and transactional fraud. His practice also encompasses a broad range of general business litigation. Christian has both a talent and a passion for drafting dispositive motions and appellate briefs. Before entering private practice, he gained perspective from the other side of the bench through clerkships and internships with federal courts.

Wing Resources IV, LLC v. Carol Ann Hoffman, Cause No. DC-24-18128, 101st Judicial District, Dallas County, Texas
Represented the plaintiff, a Texas-based oil and gas company, in a breach of contract dispute arising from a mineral transaction. A favorable settlement was negotiated, preserving asset value.
McClean v. Mawhirter, No. 24-0532, Texas Supreme Court
Provided pro bono representation to a Texas landowner in a boundary dispute with her neighbor that progressed to the Texas Supreme Court. The case centered on longstanding property lines and raised questions of survey interpretation and adverse possession. After briefing on the merits, the Court dismissed the petition for review and affirmed the lower court’s decision, securing a final victory for the client.
Mehall v. Tug Hill, Inc. et al., Cause No. 348-338376-22, 348th Judicial District, Tarrant County, Texas (Texas State Court)
Defended Tug Hill and its subsidiaries against a $20 million breach of contract lawsuit brought by a former executive. The plaintiff claimed entitlement to substantial deferred compensation. Summary judgment was granted in Tug Hill’s favor, resulting in the dismissal of all claims and an award of attorneys’ fees to Tug Hill.

Secured summary judgment in a whistleblower retaliation case brought under the National Defense Authorization Act. The Fifth Circuit affirmed on appeal, reinforcing procedural safeguards in NDAA claims and avoiding liability for the contractor.
Craddick v. BPX Operating Company (Texas) 143rd Judicial District, Reeves County
Obtained summary judgment in favor of BPX Operating Company in a complex lawsuit alleging breach of contract, bad faith washout, fraud, and conspiracy. Plaintiffs claimed their interests in oil and gas properties were wrongfully extinguished. The court’s ruling dismissed all claims, affirming BPX’s operational conduct and leasehold interests under Texas law.
Bravo Arkoma, LLC v. Sanguine Gas Exploration, et al., Case No. CJ-2023-93, District Court for Pittsburg County, Oklahoma
Successfully represented Bravo Arkoma in litigation in Oklahoma state court involving claims of subsurface trespass specifically a “frac hit,” and of misappropriation of proprietary trade secrets. The dispute between competitors involved technical issues in horizontal drilling and high-pressure fracturing and the misappropriation of dozens of confidential title opinions and mineral ownership reports by a third-party vendor.
Buechy Land and Mineral LLC v. WPX Energy Permian, LLC, Cause No. 067-339087-22, 67th Judicial District, Tarrant County
Defended Devon Energy’s subsidiary WPX Energy in a royalty underpayment lawsuit brought by a mineral lessor in Texas. The plaintiff claimed royalties were miscalculated through the improper application of the “market value” provisions of the GLO form lease. The case proceeded to a jury, who returned a unanimous verdict in favor WPX Energy and found that WPX Energy had not breached the lease.
Arbitration Between Health Care Insurer and Provider
Represented a major health care insurer in a breach of contract arbitration against a health care provider, seeking to recover overpayments made under the provider agreement. After achieving partial summary judgment and dismissal of all counterclaims, the case settled favorably.

Won a federal bench trial on all claims in a pro bono case for an Italian father who was seeking to be reunited with his daughter after she was unlawfully removed to the U.S. without his knowledge or consent.
MetroPCS Tex., LLC v. Amiri, No. 05-22-00188-CV, 2022 WL 16569603 (Tex. App.—Dallas Nov. 1, 2022, no pet.).
Obtained a favorable ruling from the Texas Court of Appeals dismissing all claims against MetroPCS Texas for lack of personal jurisdiction. The lawsuit arose from a shooting incident at a sub dealer’s store, where plaintiffs sought to impose liability on the parent company. The court’s decision reinforced corporate separateness and limited jurisdictional reach in franchise-style relationships.
ASSA ABLOY AB v. Damian, No. 03-21-00598-CV, 2023 WL 2696689 (Tex. App.—Austin Mar. 30, 2023, no pet.)
Successfully defended ASSA ABLOY AB, a Swedish parent company, against product liability and wrongful death claims in Texas state court. Plaintiffs alleged jurisdiction based on a subsidiary’s activity, but the appellate court held that the parent lacked sufficient contacts with Texas.
Damian v. Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, et al., No. 18-1403-C26, 26th Judicial District, Williamson County
Won summary judgment in a Texas wrongful death lawsuit involving allegations that a , metal picket fence was defectively designed and manufactured. Plaintiffs asserted liability under products liability law, but the court dismissed all claims, finding no evidence of defect or that Ameristar Perimeter manufactured the fence at issue. The judgment precluded trial and protected the manufacturer from significant financial exposure.
