VKHH’s Oil & Gas Appellate practice, led by Connor Bourland, has been on a hot streak this summer.

Craddick et al. v. BPX Properties et al.  – The El Paso Court of Appeals affirmed a victory for VKHH clients BPX and Devon, rejecting an attempt to establish a common-law washout claim in Texas.

In re Pioneer – The Eastland Court of Appeals denied a petition for writ of mandamus arising from a disqualification dispute.

Pioneer v. Elberta – The El Paso Court of Appeals affirmed our client’s victory on royalty nonpayment claims, as well as a full award of attorneys’ fees following a jury trial on fees.

Urban et al. v. Blackbeard et al. – Most recently, the Fort Worth Court of Appeals affirmed a victory for Blackbeard Operating in a complex indemnity dispute involving potential liability arising from a dozen Louisiana tort suits, including an award of attorneys’ fees.
