Case Overview

Partner Daniella Main of Vartabedian Katz Hester & Haynes LLP, with assistance from associate Georgina St. Johns, represented Air 6 Holdings LLC, an aviation parts supply and repair company, in the prosecution of a breach of contract against Fieldtech Avionics & Instruments, Inc. Air 6 and Fieldtech entered into an agreement through which Air 6 agreed to perform aircraft repair services in exchange for Fieldtech’s payment for the same. Upon Air 6’s completion of the services, Air 6 provided Fieldtech with the repaired part, which Fieldtech accepted, but Fieldtech failed to remit payment. After unsuccessfully attempting to obtain payment from Fieldtech for months, Air 6 filed a breach-of-contract claim against Fieldtech in Tarrant County, Texas, to recover the amount owed to Air 6 for its services, as well as attorneys’ fees and costs incurred in connection with pursuing Air 6’s claim. Fieldtech failed to answer Air 6’s lawsuit, and Air 6 moved for and was granted a default judgment, awarding Air 6 its actual damages and attorneys’ fees. Upon Air 6’s collection of the amount granted in the default judgment, the case was fully resolved.
