Representative Experience

Ironside, LLC and Ironside Lubricants, LLC (Bankr.)
Appointed and served as Chief Restructuring Officer for both Ironside, LLC, and Ironside Lubricants, LLC. Oversaw financial controls, operational stabilization, and the successful confirmation of a Chapter 11 plan. Guided the companies through the restructuring process to preserve value for stakeholders and ensure regulatory and creditor compliance during reorganization.

In re Energy XXI, Ltd. (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Represented the Ad Hoc Equity Committee in the Chapter 11 reorganization of Energy XXI. Successfully petitioned for the appointment of an Official Committee of Equity Security Holders – an uncommon result – ensuring that shareholder rights were represented during plan negotiations and confirmation, despite significant pressure from debtor and creditor constituencies.

In re Chesapeake Energy Corporation (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Served as counsel to the Official Royalty Committee in the Chapter 11 proceedings of Chesapeake Energy. Successfully defeated the Debtors’ motion to disband the committee, preserving the rights of royalty owners to assert and recover claims under the confirmed plan, contrary to Chesapeake’s initial classification of royalty owners as general unsecured creditors.

Individual Chapter 7 Debtor (5th Cir.)
Represented an individual Chapter 7 debtor in a complex case involving abandoned beachfront property and post-discharge claims. Challenged the trustee’s final report and initiated litigation against governmental interference related to pre-petition and post-abandonment conduct. On appeal, successfully reversed a federal district court dismissal at the Fifth Circuit, allowing amended claims to proceed on remand.

Defense in Adversary Proceeding, RICO Claims
Defended a former employee of a debtor-affiliate in a multi-defendant adversary proceeding alleging civil RICO violations. Achieved dismissal of all RICO claims against her client early in the litigation, while co-defendants continued in costly and protracted proceedings. Ultimately resolved without any adverse findings against the client.

In re Gulfport Energy Corporation (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Represented creditors involved in ongoing state court litigation during the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Gulfport Energy. Successfully preserved their rights to continue prosecuting those claims post-confirmation, and ensured the plan accommodated carve-outs for those parallel proceedings.

In re Solterra Renewable Technologies, Inc. (Bankr. W.D. Tex.)
Served as lead counsel to Solterra Renewable Technologies in a Subchapter V Chapter 11 reorganization. Managed adversary proceedings and structured a confirmable plan of reorganization. Successfully navigated disputes involving renewable energy contracts, intellectual property, and restructuring of business operations.

In re Matra Petroleum USA, Inc. (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Lead trial counsel for Matra Petroleum USA, Inc. and affiliated debtors in Chapter 11 proceedings. Addressed complex oil and gas issues, creditor negotiations, and confirmation challenges, ultimately restructuring the debt obligations to enable future operations or value-maximizing liquidation strategies.

In re Arsham Metal Industries, Inc. (Bankr. S.D.Tex.)
Represented the debtor in Chapter 11 proceedings, successfully negotiating a consensual dismissal of the case following agreement with key creditor stakeholders. Subsequently obtained dismissal of a related appellate action, bringing a favorable close to a contested restructuring process.

In re Neighbors Legacy Holdings, Inc. (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Served as counsel to a purchaser in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Neighbors Legacy Holdings, Inc., which operated freestanding emergency centers across Texas. Advised on acquisition strategy, due diligence, and compliance with bankruptcy sale procedures under Section 363, helping ensure continued delivery of emergency medical services and value recovery through court-approved transactions.

In re American Green Technology, Inc. (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Represented petitioning creditors in the involuntary bankruptcy case of American Green Technology, Inc. Assisted in initiating the Chapter 11 case to protect creditor interests and transition the debtor into a court-supervised reorganization process.

In re Store It REIT, Inc. (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Counsel to Store It REIT, Inc., an entity holding interests in public self-storage facilities, during its Chapter 11 restructuring. Managed plan development, asset preservation, and exit strategy to maintain operations and deliver value to stakeholders through confirmed proceedings.

In re Multiple Apartment Complexes (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Represented multiple residential real estate holdings in jointly administered Chapter 11 cases. Structured and executed a Section 363 sale of apartment complexes, resulting in a 100% distribution to all creditors and residual value to equity holders—an uncommon and favorable outcome in Chapter 11.

In re Petroleum Products & Services, Inc. (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Served as debtor’s counsel in multiple adversary proceedings, including a contested tax dispute under Bankruptcy Code § 505 involving the Internal Revenue Service. Litigated and resolved complex disputes while advancing a plan that maintained operations and protected stakeholder value.

In re Lighting Manufacturing Company (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Represented a national lighting manufacturer in its Chapter 11 case. Successfully confirmed a reorganization plan providing 100% recovery to non-insider general unsecured creditors. Resolved pending “bet-the-company” litigation in Massachusetts through bankruptcy proceedings.

In re Public IP Company (Bankr. S.D. Tex.)
Served as debtor’s counsel for a publicly traded intellectual property company involved in a failed merger with two Bakken oilfield service firms. Negotiated creditor settlements and confirmed a reorganization plan that provided full repayment to unsecured creditors while resolving related transactional disputes.
